HZB Photon School 2020 – Call for applications
The HZB Photon School 2020 will take place from 9th to 20th of March 2020 in the Wilhelm-Conrad-Röntgen-Campus.

This school is primarily aimed at master students and early stage researchers in physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, life or environmental sciences. Students will be introduced to synchrotron and laboratory-based methods that probe the molecular structure, function and dynamics of complex material systems.
The two-week program consists of basic and specialized lectures including exercises, given by experienced teachers who are HZB scientists or BESSY II super-users from our partner universities and research centers. The second week is dedicated to hands-on training at several BESSY II experimental stations and X-ray laboratories.
Participants will get a vivid experience by joining up to two experiments to work in small groups. The second week's activities will teach participants how to collect, analyze, interpret and present their own data amongst peers and specialists.

Deadline for application is the 22nd of November 2019. We will notify the acceptance for participation by 10th of December. Travel support may be available upon request. Lectures will be held in English.
